Think outside the codex in this course that focuses on folds, flaps, and dimensional forms that can be combined in inventive ways to create alternative book structures. Creativity and experimentation are encouraged and no previous book making experience is necessary.
JEN THOMAS is currently the Book Arts Studio Coordinator at the University of Richmond and has previously taught graphic design and book arts at DePaul University and the Chicago Center for Arts & Technology. She holds a BFA in Communication Arts from VCU and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Book & Paper Arts from Columbia College Chicago. An avid tinkerer, Jen is interested in exploring new ways of integrating traditional print/book media with emerging technologies.
