THIS WORKSHOP EXTENDS FOR TWO DAYS: Thursday, March 28, from 6pm-9pm and Friday, March 30 from 10am-4pm
Learn about the risograph, a magical unicorn of self-publishing equipment, with Rockstar Christopher Kardambikis.
This is a 2 day, 2 color workshop. You will experiment with image production and color separations for riso printing. The workshop will explore developing a collage-based technique for creating prints using physical materials, photographs, and drawings. We will also introduce tools available in programs like Photoshop to process images for printing. Single images and sequencing for zine production will both be covered.
CHRISTOPHER KARDAMBIKIS explores space, process, and form through books, printmaking, and drawing. He has co-founded three artist book and zine projects: Encyclopedia Destructica in Pittsburgh, Gravity and Trajectory in San Diego, and 90 Proof Press in Los Angeles. Christopher has been an artist-in-residence at Pioneer Works, The Art Students League, The Millay Colony, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the Vermont Studio Center. He received his BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and MFA from the University of California, San Diego.
